Lockdown extended in TN till Oct 31

Chief Minister Edappadi
K Palaniswami on Tuesday announced extension of lockdown
in the State to prevent spread of corona epidemic from
October one to 31 with the existing restrictions and
relaxations.

In a statement here, Mr Palaniswami, who reviewed the
COVID-19 pandemic situation with the district collectors
and also with the medical panel and healthcare experts
at the State Secretariat, said the lockdown was being
extended till the midnight of October 31.

Except in containment zones, the relaxations already
announced from September one as part of Unlock 4.0
measures, would continue to be in force.

While hotels, tea shops and restaurants would be allowed
to function from 0600 hrs to 2100 hrs, take aways were
permitted till 2200 hrs and film shoots were allowed with
a maximum of 100 people, but spectators were not allowed.

While increasing the landing of domestic flights from 50
to 100, he said status quo would be maintained in respect
of landing of flights in Coimbatore, Trichy, Madurai,
Tuticorin and Salem airports.
